Shape of Water, The Greatest Showman dominated the ‘Music’ Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

Veteran film composer Alexandre Desplat took home best score at the 2018 Golden Globes. Desplat’s Shape of Water score emerged victorious in the category over the music to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (Carter Burwell), Phantom Thread (Johnny Greenwood), The Post (John Williams) and Dunkirk (Hans Zimmer).

This Is Me From The Greatest Showman won the Best Original Song award.

The song is the second consecutive win for songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who took home last year’s prize for City of Stars from La La Land.

The 75th Golden Globes has been dominated by one colour: black. If not all, almost all women – from stars and nominees to crews working backstage- wore black, in support of the #metoo #timesup movement against harassment, abuse, and violence against women. Although Natalie Portman joked, when announcing the Globe for Best Director – “none of them are women” – the Globes 2018 were definitely woman-centered.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri dominated the Golden Globe Awards, picking up a leading four awards, including a best drama statue. It wasn’t the only big winner to focus on steely female protagonists. Lady Bird was named best musical or comedy while nabbing a best actress prize for Saoirse Ronan for playing a sardonic teen. On the television front, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale picked up a best TV drama award, while HBO’s Big Little Lies earned a leading four awards including one for best TV movie or miniseries. Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel earned two statues, including a best TV comedy or musical honor.
