The new TD 201 and TD202 come with a pre-configured cartridge, integrated, switchable phono stage for direct connection to any amplifier or receiver, smooth-running belt driven motor, and an aluminum platter with a rubber mat.
Both the Thorens TD 201 (€449) and TD 202 (€599) will be available in high-gloss black from the end of November 2018.
THORENS TD 201
The new Thorens TD 201 is the right choice for anyone looking for a robust, easy to use plug and play turntable. It comes with a smooth running belt drive and a aluminium platter with rubber mat. The new Thorens TP 71 tonearm uses a detachable headshell with preconfigured AT 3600 cartridge.
Using the switchable integrated phono stage the TD 201 can be connected to any amplifier or receiver even if it does not have a specific input for phono devices.
THORENS TD 202
New TD 202 completes the new series of manual plug and play turntables. Compared with its “smaller” brother TD 201 it comes with a more massive plinth and a AT 95E cartridge.
The integrated phono stage includes an additional analogue/digital converter with USB out. So the record played will be automatically digitized and can easily be recorded on a computer using several kinds of recording software that can be downloaded from the web.
