THE SHOP

Relevant Record Café was opened in November 2014 by husband and wife partnership Andy and Angie Powell. With a desire to set up their own business together and a combined passion of music and great coffee the couple set out to create a space in Cambridge’s bustling Mill Road that would enable other lovers to share and enjoy these treasures (and a few other tasty extras!) in an environment that is cool, vibrant yet relaxing too. With a coffee shop upstairs and a vinyl emporium in the basement; Relevant is the only place to be when in need of a bit of R’n R’ (that’s Records and Recuperation!)

In the basement at Relevant we offer an eclectic range of new and pre-owned vinyl. As an independent record retailer we hope to supply people with releases that they may not get from larger record chains. As well as selling records, we also stock limited edition high quality gig prints, record cases and turntables. We aim to play a part in Cambridge’s music scene by bringing people together and actively supporting and promoting local acts. We host regular live music events, head over to our events page to see who’s playing soon!
The basement is run by Andy, who has always had the dream of running his own record shop. An avid music lover, regular gig-goer and committed collector, Andy and his staff should be able to recommend and advise you on anything you are looking for.
