“Beat Street Records was established in 1996 by cofounders Avi Shack & Wes Kuitenbrouwer. Originally a Skateboard/Clothing/Lifestyle store, Beat Street quickly evolved into a record store. A record mecca for DJs in the 90s/2000s, Beat Street moved locations 4 times, landing in the current location on Hastings Street in 2004. Beatstreet.ca went online in 2002, and has undergone 4 major changes, the most recent in March 2012.

Beat Street carries all sorts of vinyl records- 12″, LP, 7″ – New and Used – All styles. We have approx 50,000 records in stock in our store, and more in our back room warehouse. Beat Street also carries all sorts of urban lifestyle items- Shirts, Hats, Books, Magazines, Graffiti Art Supplies, DJ Equipment, Toys and Collectibles and more”.
