Prince estate announces new album ‘Piano and a Microphone 1983’

On what would have been his 60th birthday, Prince estate and Warner Bros. have announced the release of a live album recorded in 1983: Piano & A Microphone: 1983, out September 21.

Also, Prince estate has shared a song, Mary Don’t You Weep, which will also play during the end credits of Spike Lee’s upcoming movie, BlacKkKlansman:

The album was recorded during a rehearsal at Prince’s home studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Much of Piano and a Microphone 1983 captures Prince working through future classics like Purple Rain, Strange Relationship and International Lover.
