Yes! Today is the day. Eels, the Mark Oliver Everett-fronted band, have released its first new record in four years: The Deconstruction (via E Works/PIAS).
The Deconstruction was recorded with longtime collaborators Koool G Murder, P-Boo, the Deconstruction Orchestra and Choir, and was produced by Everett with some production by Mickey Petralia (who worked on 1998’s Electro-Shock Blues). Eels’ last release was 2014’s LP The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett.
The new Eels new album is out today as download, CD, double 10″ yellow vinyl and double 12″ pink vinyl deluxe box set. In their 4 star reviews MOJO calls it “Gorgeous… Another Eels album to treasure,” while Q Magazine calls it “A captivating return from one of indie rock’s most consistent songwriters… Excellent.”
