‘As You Were’, the Liam Gallagher’s last chance

The debut album from Liam Gallagher does not disappoint. He re-emerges and comes out, for a while, of his brother’s shadow with As You Were. How? Calling for help to the best. Eight of the album’s 12 songs were co-written with influential producers such as Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow, Lord, Charli XCX) and Greg Kurstin (Adele, Foo Fighters, Beck).

“I never really wanted to do all this solo stuff,” the former Oasis and Beady Eye singer said, “but I guess it’s my last chance to really make music. It’s not something I really, really, really saw myself doing, but (after) Beady Eye there’s no point in starting a new band because it’s only going to get compared to Oasis. So I might as well do this solo thing, but it feels pretty natural, man.”
