.1. The Inkwell is an actual physical bricks & mortar shop, located at 10 Gillygate in York. If you can’t visit us in person, we will happily mail you anything you want, whether directly though the ‘Products’ pages, or if you see something in a photo you fancy, email us via the Contact page and we’ll sort something out.
.2. The Inkwell specialises in new release & reissue vinyl, and we stock various shades of second-hand LPs too. We like labels like NowAgain, Ace Records, Finders Keepers, Light In The Attic & Trouble In Mind.
.3. The Inkwell also sells new & second-hand books. Our books cover all aspects of the arts, popular culture, history and politics. We also like 50s/60s pulp fictions, old film magazines and vintage children’s annuals.
.4. The other thing The Inkwell sells is record players. We stock new Steepletone, retro-styled players, starting at £90. When somebody buys a record player we always give them a pile of cheap records for free.
.5. The Inkwell is laid-out like an old school classroom, complete with school desks, a blackboard and educational posters. We wanted to make The Inkwell an interesting place to buy interesting things.
.6. The best place to find out what new releases we have in is on our ‘New In Stock’ page. Additionally, follow us on Twitter @inkwellyork. We tweet a lot about our stock, but also we love talking about our passions. Mainly this involves drumbreaks we’ve found and bird-call records.
