“Drastic Plastic Underground, our new location at 1118B Howard Street, will focus entirely on the sale of music and music related products, especially vinyl and CDs, but also DVDs, Blu-rays, books and vinyl accessories. We aspire to have well over 10,000 new pieces of vinyl at any given time, as well as used. The Underground’s design theme is that of the London Underground both because it is in fact located in the basement, but more importantly as an homage to England’s punk and post-punk movement of the late 70s and 80s that informed our launch so strongly in 1982 and continues to be an important part of our present as well as our history.”
